Butler vaccum hose reel won't shut off...

One of our Butler vaccum hose reels wouldn't quit turning the other day.

Here is what I discovered to fix it. Good old fashioned tap in the correct location.

Experience has it's value... Not just knowing what to fix but where to apply the magic touch.

Going to see how long it lasts...while I order another one to have on hand.... But I am curious how long it will last

The worst part of a stuck solenoid on a reel is when the hose slaps you in the face. Mine has been sticking intermittently for a month. To bad you can't take these new ones apart

Yikes That hurts without it motorized. I can only imagine.

On closer look, stuck relay that feeds the solenoid.

Never noticed one thing till now.
The rubber lid gasket material -possible line it behind cover and machinery underneath.
Just to remove some of the vibration that might have caused that ?
Im sure you might have some left over,but just a thought...
