Jimmy,

your call...?...But for less than $2.00 you can get the job done........... 8)

I put 1 quart of Vinegar in my Butlers every month...110 gal fresh water tanks...
Then just clean with it...Cleans out Chemical pump & Chemical feed guage...
Also cleans out your wand valve,hoses,jets,ect......

At that dilution, or even 1 gal....It will only have a minimal effect on your metered solutions.

I HAVE NEVER.....had to DESCALE any of my Butler Units....in 20 + years...

Jimmy,

If you use Hydrmaster's powder descaler, theoretically you won't have to drain the tank. This is because it uses a sequestrant for which if there is any excess would simply serve to help the cleaning process. Use it light, and repeat until desired results have taken place.

There is a fix for that......look in a marine catolog for a sacraficial anode??
I think thats what it's called. It's sposed to stop that "white rust" build up.

By making use of sacrificial anodes you maintain the condition and extend the life of both your boat and motor.
Martyr anodes are made from high purity zinc with added catalysts to produce an "activated alloy" insuring the anode will give 100% of itself to protect your boat from corrosive action.
Martyr anodes meet ISO 9000 certification and MIL Spec 18001-J

Isn't there something I can get at Lowes/HD/Menards like a sacificial anode?

Don't they have them in hot water heaters?
