I'm not making a big deal about the worm, but just try to get inside the mind of someone who thinks so little of the consequences of his actions as to smash a worm into a silk carpet. Now imagine the business relationship with this person; really, to him you are just another worm.

So, qualify the crap out of it, and bear in mind that it will be nearly impossible to keep the spot where you cleaned it from standing out later.

I have a number of bulletins on the removal of crushed worm remains on silk.

I just need to know which of the following worms it might have been:

Lumbricus terrestris?
Eisenia fetida?
Eisenia andrei?
Eudrilus eugeniae?

There is, of course, a different bulletin for each type of worm, with products and the sequence with which they must be used for each one of them.

Let's speculate how you would get the worm guts out....

1. Tell the customer that it was a silk worm. The worm was trained to come out at night and do repairs and touch-ups to the fibers. The customer now voided the warranty and needs to replace the silkworm.

2. remove the solids, flush with an acid rinse. If more cleaning is needed, spray area with an encapsulant, lightly agitate, rinse, flash dry. (That's what I would do). How far off am I?

Number 1 is perfect!

Number 2 isn’t bad, but skip the acid rinse. The guts and goo are impervious to acids. The encap spotter would probably do the trick.

Still....Number 1 beats my goofy (and of course made up) references to using different procedures and products for different worms.

Assuming the squished worm is not fresh, it probably is as hard as concrete.
Personally, my thoughts would be to mist distilled water on the spot, cover with cling wrap, and let it sit for 30-45 min first to help soften the mess...
Then proceed with cleaning.....
But hey, what do I know...
