Specifically can you drill/widen the orifice of a vac motor? maybe take it from 1.6 to 2.0?

Since most have a molded/cast exhaust housing, i don't think there is much gain by enlarging the Intake orifice.

The only reason I could see for it would to have "over engineering" in your favor, if say you had to put a 90 deg bend or sharper in the intake plumbing, it is better to have a 2" 90 than a 1.5" 90, so the corresponding tubing would probably have to be larger as well.

Don't overthink this Ash, your set up is good to go.

Ashley;

There are new Hi-Airwatt vac motors that easily outperform what was available just a year ago.

What are you trying to accomplish?
