I just heard there is another rate increase from the carpet mills hmmmm
they are shooting them self in the foot.I think its great for us cleaners
because at the rate of new carpet its better to take care of what they have.
When I started in the carpet business 20 something years ago you could
carpet a whole house for 2000.00 now thats the cost of a family room

You still can carpet a home for 2000 bucks around here....most homes only have 100 yards or 900 ft of carpet in them.

But yes carpet has gone up a good bit. When I first started selling it we were able to sell base rate carpet for 14 bucks a yard installed and now it's up at 19-20 a yard installed.

It actually don't help us cleaners as much as I'd like because customers are making a shift to hard surfaces. Laminate and ceramic tile.
