I do a lot of rentals. It's not unusual for me to do 8-12 year old carpet and no matter how clean I get it I am left with bleached out spots and traffic lane greying on some units.. Has anyone heard anything about the Cameleon Carpet painting system?

Their website is geared for homeowners:

But they do have an auction geared for the professional:

It can't be worth that kind of money, but I'm curious about it. Or should I just be taking the CRT class and call it a day.

I have a client who has several rentals and she does most of the maintenance herself, she told me she takes a carpet sample to hd and matches paint, then dilutes it with water and touches up the carpet. Idn but she swears it works.

i sent them an email requesting info.

but i asked if carpet cleaning chemicals would remove the paint, if the carpet was crunchy or hard after painting, and if the carpet fibers stick together because of the paint..

figured we could all use some answers.

I toured the Lee's Commercial Carpet facility near Glascow Virginia in 1988 where they were screen printing carpet modules at room temperature for a high end office installation. Bill Yeadon was on that tour as well as Ron Fall who has posted here.

I've often wondered if that was the only instance of "painting" commercial carpet, and how well did it do longer term?
