Yes...carpet repair is lucrative...with the right equipment.... it is easy. The Kool Glide takes most of the hassle out of repairs....
Kool Glide Carpet seamer
Kool Glide tape
3" carpet cookie cutter
Adjustable Circle cutter
Good carpet knife
Small seam roller
Carpet kicker
Carpet awl
Knap shears
needle nose pliers
All this can be carried in a 5 gallon bucket.
Get some carpet scaps and practice....over pad...when repairing be sure to check for any metal...staples, etc and remove them before using Kool Glide. In short order you will be making professional repairs.
Buy $20 in raffle tickets and I'll send you barrys Kool glide DVD no charge normlly I give it out when you buy a Kool glide. We also have his DVD series I'm going to put on sale for those that buy raffle tickets. He has 3 series a 1 DVD 5 DVD and 7 DVD set.
In my experience, the circle cutter aka cookie cutter only works good from the back of the carpet. It'll cut face yarns from the top. I have not used the koolglide, but I bet it really takes "hard" out of hardwork. I learned the old fasion way with a glue gun, seaming iron, awl, duckbill scissors, carpet knife.
I did the carpet repair and reinstallation and I learned alot. I like doing carpet repair work because its just more money on the biill. I also like repairs because not all cleaners can repair and that makes you a specialist
