checking the pH

Does anyone do this b-4 cleaning carpeting and/or stains?
Do you use a pH pen or paper? Has the paper ever left dye on the carpeting?

On Wool Carpets that have been cleaned by another company we will check with a ph pen, or on certain spotting issues or mystery stains. However, you should never have a dye issue with the lytmus paper because it should never touch the carpet IF you are using it correctly.. For the paper test, you apply a small amount of water to the carpet, using a spoon small dish, scoop/scrape up a bit of the water so you can dip the lytmus paper to obtain your pH results.

I've never had much success when applying a few drops of distilled water on a "spot" to scoop up the moisture in a spoon... to test with paper.
so I just use a pen. And yes some PH paper can mark the carpet! So get a pen. IMHO

Does someone read these posts to you and or is that weekly trip on the short bus to that special place teaching you how to read?

The batteries for your sprayer would last longer if you keep them your tongue off the posts.

Go eat some more paint chips.
