You ma need to use a small screw driver to maneuver them in, just like fitting a tire on a rim.

Push them on as far as you can, insert screwdriver & lever them into place.

Been a few years since I had to replace mine, didn't have much problem.

Pinch the new Cimex grommets with needle-nose plier, squeeze the grommet in the pliers, and press it into the driver. They should go in pretty simple.
