Over the last couple of years we've had a few call backs for blue paint on baseboard and even one office where the tech's got too close to the vinyl and rubbed a grove causing us to replace some sections. :dejection:

Anyway when you're not the owner operator and you have other people doing work for you then you need to make things a easy as possible so there are no problems.

We had a machinist we work with make us these bumper wings. We'll have to use it some and see if it actually helps and will hold up to the use.

How much does this mod cost?

He has the material already so he can do 5-of them for $100.00 a piece but after that he's not sure since he'd have to price the aluminum. It's a tough decision because the couple of call backs were embarrassing but easily wiped off with degreaser and a rag. The one that cost us the invoice amount of the job $300.00. Not sure if we will do them all until we field test it.....can we try it out at your home and see if it damages your baseboards.

Definitely a negative MOT, had one once with wood baseboards that i had to go out with the scratch marker and basically do all 5k sqr ft.
Looked brand new when i was done !

We've never had it scratch the wood but have had it leave blue marks. We also painted the wheel white, just in case it does bump against a door opening or baseboard maybe the white won't be as obvious as the blue marks. :errf:

There really is no reason for them to be that close anyway, provided we vacuum, that carpet just isn't dirty anyway. We've had some to update our training to stay an inch or two away from the base. After all once dry it will look even and shouldn't be a problem.

We will probably have them all modified but our 15-inch Cimex. Better safe than sorry.

Why not just duc tape the blue part of the wheel. So that if it touches its not marking.

We thought of that, we also thought of a rubber band on the wheel before giving to our man that constructs things for us.
