The cord is only annoying but like mentioned you will like the fact that you can actually lift this unit in and out of a van or truck. Battery units are too heavy and you need to maintain charge on the battery al year long. Along with all the other battery maintenance. If you have an extra person with you, you shouldn't even notice the cord.

What are you going to use it on mostly?

Rent one for about 30 bucks a day. No maintenance no storage. If you only use it a couple times a year

The rental yard here has several different sizes. We've rented a small one several times when doing the floors here. We should probably get one but just don't use it enough to justify the purchase.

NO NO NO. We like to OWN the junk that clutters our shop...

(you are right)

"Just needs batteries " is Stockwell for " let the kids play on it for ten years then scrap it". If you have enough strip and wax work to justify a new one , you have too much strip and wax work. That junk is for the birds.
