Do you clean for YOUR church?
Do you charge or donate the service?
Do you consider the donation your tithe or part of your tithe?
Do you write off the value of the donated services?

Freaks, Heathens, Wiccans or snake handlers need not reply.

If you clean and donate the service yes that would be part of your tithe

Or offering

You can write off the tithe not the value of the service too.
They need to give you a receipt for the donation to write off.

you can write it off if you charge for the service and donate the funds back. Its a wash, money in, money out. But you cant provide a donated service and pick a number of its value. IE if its donated, it does not have a value. Can you imagine how that could be distorted?

At least thats what my accountant told me awhile back when I asked the same question.

That's why I say it's $500 value ad that to my offering receipt at the end of the year.

Ps a $500 gets you a $120 savings

That's why I love people who call and say it's a tax write off!

I spend $2000 I save $200 in taxes.

I'm still out $1800!

Used to donate my services when I first started out then soon learned that I was being taken advantage of. Churches have plenty of money to pay for services; they don‘t even pay taxes!!! I would rather donate services to people in “need”. Those will truly appreciate it. Most of these churches don‘t need anything, just want it for free or highly discounted because they think they should. At least that has been my experience...

That is a pita and takes up time. You can be somewhere else making money. I’d rather stick to God’s plan and write a check. My church asked me to spray during Covid which I did weekly. They tried their best to pay me, but why, so I could give it back. Let someone else who needs the money do it. It won’t get you a better seat🤷🏼‍♂️

No, I love em, I just don’t have to clean up after em. I do that plenty. I’m like a pastor, my whole life is service, and I get paid for it. My church gets PLENTY of money from me.
They would rather have my money, than my time🤷🏼‍♂️ I’ve #worked through all of that in 50 yrs.

One more thing, this is my 2nd church in 48 yrs. 6 being here. I’ve learned to keep them at arms length and not know what’s going on behind the scenes. That way, I don’t get cynical about behind the scene activities. What I don’t know, won’t hurt me, or aggravate me😬

Better than ever Larry.

I plan my days around Wednesday's nights mid week service (working through Psalms) Saturday's Men's Bible Study, which feels like a wholesome version of an AA meeting with 50 to 60 some odd bro's who could all be members of my ATV club, and Sunday's service that fills a 500 seat hall twice.

Now when Fred is a rude condesending prick to me I send prayers his way.

My church, and both my daughters private school ask for donations on a weekly basis.

I ask you, when do they give back to MY CODB, and sweat equity???

Answer, NEVER.

Am I closer to Christ because of it???

Wait!

I thought I held first place as the rude, condescending prick?

I’m hurt....😆
