I lost pressure today in the middle of a job. TM was showing pressure on the gauge. I traced back and found my exhaust HE is clogged. First time clogging a HE for me. Will TM descaler unclog it or will it have to be taken out?

Boxxers are famous for that problem.

Back pressure from clogged Boxxer HX has caused many an engine to blow its head gasket.

Had a Steamway 2100, the coil plugged up. I had no flow at all, took it out Dead-headed it with 3,000 PSI backwards. It let loose all kind of scale, rust, descaled it was all good.

I was thinking of hooking the pump to the wrong side of the HE and seeing if it would flow in reverse. I will try to descale it first.

Check your orffice first then descle then do what you posted. With nothing works Call Hm service dept. A radiator shop can descale it after you clean it up.

Thats the best reason to always use soft water, my machine
has 3500 hrs and never been descaled.

I bought a container of Prochem descaler when I purchased my
machine but I've never used it.

Take it to a radiator shop and have them dip it in the tank. Cost $20.00 or less and is faster then messing with it.
