So I am looking for a new prespray as my old one Powermaxx I am not sure they are in business any more (website not working I need to call to confirm).

So I email have Cobb and his company these questions and never got any answer. His company told me to call them when I told them email is best for me as I am busy working most days.

I am hoping some user here can answer my questions since they choose not to.

Do they offer samples of the powermax.

If I get the poly drum. Is that basically a 55 gall drum. Would I have to worry about it clumping up or hardening it I do not use it fast enough?

I am very discouraged and disappointed that they choose not answer my questions.

Thanks for your help.

If you are not willing to do it their way, you will never be happy doing business with Cobb's.

Either suck it up and call, or give up and move on.

They really don't care either way.

Cobbs has some great chemicals. Really really good stuff.

But you have to be willing to deal with the reality of working with an owner operated supply house

You will often wait two weeks before your order shows up.

They will often screw up the order in some weird way.

Your chemicals will vary in appearance and performance. Sometimes from case to case, sometimes from jug to jug and sometimes from ounce to ounce...

Always deal with Larry or Marie (his wife) when you call. When Taluulabell or "Ed" answers tell them your name is Mikey P and you wish to speak to Larry.

Don't call between 11:30AM and 1PM. Larry takes a long lunch.

Just the way it is..

honestly I don't think you save enough by purchasing a drum compared to buckets. On the website without discounts the drum costs 12 cents per pound cheaper than buckets. However if you purchase 25 gallons you get a tier 1 discount, and at 50 gallons you reach a tier 2 discount. buckets of powder are considered 5 gallons even though they are sold as 45 pounds.

As far as your original question, I think it would end up clumping if you didn't use it quickly.

I also sometimes get frustrated with communication with cobbs. However I also realize it is a small company like mine and try to be understanding like I appreciate customers do with me. So I will continue to spend my 8 grand or so a year with them. Hope you find what your looking for, I really like powermax and it is my go to pre-spray for years now.

I've probably only been through 5-6 45 pound buckets of the pm. Each has been excellent. It does a great job brightening light colored carpet (oxidizer I think). I dig the stain solv too.

I spent a couple days at cobbs. He needs like twice as many people working for him.... He's a smart dude and for some reason smart dudes have organisational issues

Anyways I freaking love power max. Since I started using it and a crb I almost never use a spotter. Everything comes out.

Powermax just works. Have they had and sometimes have had an issue, yes. But it is a good Prespray at a good price.

Just the shipping for me is the deal breaker.... It's too expensive to ship it for me regardless of the dilution ratio.... I've tried powermax years ago with good success and smell but at the recommended dilution it had, we went through it fast...

I do like some of his spotters...

You guys are a lot more Christian than me. Talk about turning the other chick. :winky:

Funny to hear when it comes from people like Mike that flip over backwards to give their clients the best service possible, by far better than any large business will.

I am willing to ignore the small stuff, like waiting a little longer for the product, not responding as fast to an email etc., but not the big stuff like the attitude. The local suppliers that I deal with like Carpet Maintenance Supply never treat you like that. They treat you great. John at superior treats you with great attention and the products seem to arrive as soon as you practically hang up the phone. And they are all small, owner operated suppliers.

Cobb has good things to offer and is very knowledgeable. Had he taken care of that issue, I am sure he'd be gaining even more customers.

Haven't had any problems ordering from cobbs I've ordered from the website and over the phone.

Order a 45 lb bucket of power max $20 shipping $125 out the door it will do what you need it to do.

If your ordering more stuff I believe if you call they waive the shipping on larger orders.

You should pull the trigger on the bucket you'll be happy.

I'm using my first order of ultraseal impregnator. Dries completely clear. I'll go out of my way to find a cost effective product like this outside of my local supplier. When it comes to most other powders and liquids I've now been able to support my local shop. They have grown significantly and have everything I could want. Smaller town carpet cleaners I can see not having the selection they really need locally and having to go mail-order. Not getting orders promptly well, that's something to plan for.

exactly.

Larry has us hooked to his products by the sack.

Plan ahead.
UltraSeal
Carb Cleaner
and Acid/ Grout Cleaner are worth the minor headache.

Brad, I emailed you on the 23rd but I have not gotten a response. I am more than happy to help you in any way that I can. I hate to bother you, but I do need to get at least some basic information since you are not in our system.
The Powermax comes in 6.5 lb, 45 lb and 400 lb sizes. Here's a link:

Powdered detergents can clump or harden if moisture gets to it. Keeping the lid on tight and using a dry scoop will help to minimize that issue.

Thanks,
Ray.
