How do you guys measure for commercial jobs? Do you guys use a laser or measuring wheel? Is there some kind of electronic tool you can use that will create a layout or just write it out on paper?
This client also wants me to clean the fabric panels of each cubicle. What would you guys charge for that?

Lecia D2 Laser tape measure.... Makes quick work of measuring....

Figure out how many panels you can clean in 1hour and charge accordingly to how much you want to make....

Be aware of cheap, useless SONIC hand-held measurering tools misleadingly labeled using the term LASER because they have an integrated laser pointer.

Real deal will run 100+.

One pace from most average sized hacks will be roughly 2 feet in length, so you can often rough out distances by counting the amount of steps of normal stride from point-point and doubling it.

Test it by walking out 10 paces on 12" tiles and see how close you are in covering 20 tiles.

Surprisingly accurate if your not a big Galoof like Mikey or with the last name of Chavez.

idk how accurate they are, but 99% of the time i just count ceiling tiles. in western NY they are either 2x4 or 2x2...99% of the time. so fast and easy...no tools needed.

It just allows you to measure more accurately when there is furniture, filing cabinets, desks in the way. you are not always cleaning the entire floor surface, nor moving the fixtures. When you measure the room area compared to the floor to be cleaned area, there can be a considerable difference and it will be reflected in your price. Might make the difference whether or not you get the job.

Yea, plus I like that it adds the SF for you to give you a running total... so all you have to do is multiple the cents and you have the price...
