What the hell,
I experience this along with all of you.

What's with HomeAdvisor calling almost every week, some times twice.
We don't engage them at all, then I get the emails.
The latest thing that they say on the machine is that there running a special.
Whose fallen for this and how much of your hard earned money do they keep?

Here's a quick story, I told Jim Pemberton around Xmas.
Lady called me , her dogs pissed on the furniture. She contacted HomeAdvisor, they sent her a girl who showed up with a bucket, towels, spray bottle and a toothbrush. The customer let her in, after a couple hours she told her to leave.

True story.

I’m REALLY SICK of the “Google” lady who’s first words always are “please don’t hang up”!
Our idiots that bug us is yelp. They call, my wife answers, they demand to talk to the owner which is me/her. She tells them sorry not interested, they treat her like shit and demand the owner. I send them an email saying how they are the yellow pages of the modern world and no one cares about good reviews only low pricing. Then they blow up the phone again. Losers.....hahaha

Do most of you guys advertise? Just curious. I'm in socal and I've learned when I advertise along side other cleaners I'm just compared to them and drives prices down. I haven't done hardly any in 15 years and can't even keep up most of the time. It seams staying out of the hustle once established has helped me tremendously.

I don’t let them talk. I just hang up.

When I was younger and didn’t value my time as much, I would toy with telemarketers by putting on my best Forest Gump voice and would continually interrupt the caller by asking what words meant, or even how to spell them. Or I would engage them in unrelated talk...as non sensical as possible.

My goal was to make them hang up on me.

Now I just hang up immediately

Well, remember his nickname and do it at your peril.

#1 used to hate it when I did that. My oldest daughter loved it.

They would both race for the phone when it rang; #1 to keep me from answering; my daughter to hand it to me, hoping for entertainment.

HomeAdvisor has been calling us as well. Very annoying, especially since we are one of those states where we are basically shut down and I am the only one answering the phones. My standard procedure is to very politely say "Thanks you for calling, we are not interested at this time". I say that as I am hanging up and hope that the I can time it so that the very last word I say happens just as the handset reaches the cradle.

I hung up on the Angies list lady this week. Am I going to burn in hell? I tried to be nice but she just wouldn't quit.

I use to tell them I was very interested but please hang on a minute ill be right back. Then I would put the phone down and go about my business and check occasionally to see of they were still there. Some would wait over 15 minutes.
