When these phone solicitor A wholes use a local masked number, does it have to be a real number they use?
Can they self identify as any number they wish?
Can they use a real number, that may belong to a customer?
They are fooking relentless.
Making calls appear to be originating from a "local" number in relation to the destination number, as opposed to coming from an unfamiliar area code is obviously an advantage.
I think there are many different techniques being utilized.
I don't think most numbers are completely random in generation, because most can be called back and usualy lead somewhere.
They are likely pulled from an available number bank from a virtual provider.
It is very easy to appear as any number, but is really no benefit to it with there being so many virtual numbers available for "rent".
