A customer wants me to clean her travertine floors, but I'm reluctant to attempt it for fear of making the grout worse which is already coming out. Does anyone have experience with this? Is this a job I should avoid? What would cause this to happen, her floor is only 5 years old?

Any info would be appreciated

Brian

Tiles have movement , so ever slight causing the grout to forced up and out.

Technically an improper grout install as grout supposed to go between the tiles no in the chisel and sanded grout too coarse to get in less than 1/8 gap. It’s always don’t and grout install will vary between installers
You can clean and grout- use Prism, it way better for this, If excess movement may fail again

Tap on tiles near crack and see if hollow sounding
