Was a a supply store today, wanted to try that crystal defoamer but they only had the powered defoamer, have never used either, suppose to apply it right onto the carpet before you rinse and extract, anyone ever use either one of them and if so how do they work. seems to me it would be easier to use one of them over the liquid, that way i don't have to keep stopping to add more thru the vac hose. i use a portable Mytee ltd5.

Crystal Defoamer is a great product
I recommend only using it on the carpets that have foaming issues
If you are using a portable I would get a very cheap sponge and saturate it with Chemspec liquid defoamer and drop it in your tank, this will stop foam in your tank if you have foam in your hoses sprinkle the powder down before cleaning

I also use the chemspec defoamer, works just fine. Don't use much of it, once in a while.

Yes, a powder will work better for you(especially with a porty), sprinkle it on the carpet and suck it up or just put some in the vac hose, doesn't take much.

You can also try using a more mild rinse(acid) or cut down on the emulsifier you are using, both will help with foam.

Couple videos just applying some powdered defoamer directly....we will also sometimes wet it down a bit with the wand to help with the extraction...

Liquid defoamers aren't terribly effective. In many cases they don't work at all.
On the other hand, a good powdered defoamer will completely kill the foam.
As mentioned above, Chemspec's Crystal Defoamer is very good.
Releasit Foam-Guard works great too!

Just nothing really magical about SHAMPOO once you look past the BS marketing.

I use both liquid and powder. I dump a very small amount of liquid in my cimex when I'm running ultra pac through it for pre scrubbing. Seems to work well.

if you run out of defoamer, you can use something like prochem's citrus pro to cut foam. You can see how well it works if you are filling a bucket of suds under a tap. just spray a little and it cuts the foam right away. makes a great non foaming booster for those greasy jobs

We clean a school with multiple bubble machines that must run all day. I haven't found anything that works well. 12,000 sq ft and it drives me crazy. I'm open to suggestions.

Give a good crystal defoamer a try. Sprinkle it on the carpet like parmesan cheese. Then extract like normal. I've never seen a foaming situation that couldn't be brought under control.

I find it interesting that Rick even sells a defoamer.

Is it to compliment your portable?

What other HWE products do you offer?

We sell items that a "commercial" carpet cleaner would need. Everything we have is geared toward making commercial carpet cleaning a success. So we carry the TruckPort portable that's ideal for commercial work. We also carry the Rotovac 360i - because it's perfect for a portable.

We also have a HWE product in the Releasit line called Encap-Punch. Encap-Punch is an encap pre-spray and rinse detergent. Punch has been a very popular product in the Releasit line!

We are also currently developing a soon to be released HWE high-pH pre-spray. It's a powdered pre-spray that mixes perfectly. And it is seriously powerful! Plus it is compatible with our other Releasit detergents.

Encap and low moisture can cover the bases for most commercial work, but sometimes HWE is also needed. So we have some well thought out HWE products in our line too. Our goal is to provide the best stuff for commercial carpet care. http://www.ihaveoccd.com

In fact Encap-Punch is currently on special...

I always carry Chemeisters Rinse Master for those rare times that I encounter foam issues. Mostly it is from a customer applied detergent on an area, and sometimes it is a concentrated spill of laundry detergent, in either case it will not rinse out with my FWR. So I apply a mixed solution to the area with a trigger, or if it is a spill of concentrated soap, I just pour the Rinse Master straight onto the area. It rinses right out. It is the only defomer I know of that is actually meant to be a rinse agent metered through your chemical draw and used as a final rinse. Great inexpensive (21/gal) product to always have on hand.

I've used Rinse Master. After a while with all the stuff being added to the metered container I wonder if any of the chemicals are offsetting each other.

Here's what I've been putting into my container:

Flex Ice
Fragrance (Chemeisters or Judson)
Rinse Master
EncapuGuard Green

Any criticisms?
