I never use anything but soft water and don't use emulisifier throught the unit, will I ever need to descale? I have opened the coolant exchangers and they look like new inside, never have any build up in on filter screens but have never looked at the exhaust exchanger. What is your experience?

I advise my customers that have Power Clean units to run a de-scaler through their machines about every 1-2 months since the Power Clean's employ a mix tank. I see very few problems with actual hard water build-up, most of the problems I see are from solution build-up.

Sounds like you don't have a problem since you have checked for evidence of solution build-up. Just for a laugh, you may want to run some vinegar through your machine and see if you pull anything out of it. But my guess would be that you wouldn't get much of anything out of it since you run an acid rinse and soft-water.

Just my $.02

I use soft water about 99% of the time... I have descaled once but not sure if it did anything..

I don't even know what scale looks like... What is this stuff?
