They get beat up a lot for copying people, which is probably well-earned.

Just wondering if there’s a double-standard.

prob'ly not.
Likely examples well before

It only became famous when Mike's loins became all tingly over it.
Before that, he didn't like it , then he did like it

it's de jour fame is about to go by the wayside now that he no longer gets the same loin tingle he used to

and fact is, a fixed hED is more durable and better for 92.778% of wanding operations anyway .

Could not agree more.

That’s why I’m using this 12” Sapphire on every job.

I can step on one side of the head when I want to get into an edge.

It’s lightweight and no moving parts to break.

The Devastator wand is worth every penny.

The swivel head allows you to reach more places (odd angles) and under furniture with ease. It is well built and durable. It is one piece of equipment anybody who seriously cleans carpet for a living should have.

The adjustable manifold is not necessary (you will end up setting it in one angle). In my experience-The metal splitter to the two pressure hoses and the pressure hoses themselves are the "weak link". Also the little QCs fail occasionally and if you hit something at the right angle, been known to disengage and will also start leaking after a while. All little nuisances (inconvenience) but well worth the hassle.

A great tool that requires some maintenance. Get it, you won't regret it.

Ok.

I’ll stick with my 12” Sapphire.

I’ve tried them all (even the 12” Devastator) and I hate my new life less with the Sapphire.

There’s the occasional closet corner I can’t reach, but I’d rather grab my stair tool than push that additional weight hundreds, if not thousands of times per day.

I have owned a Bentley, 12” Devastator, 13” Evolution, Mach 12 with 2” tube, JoeDang with Ultra Holed Glide... and the Sapphire 12”.

The Bentley and JoeDang extracted the best, but my Sapphire 12” helps me hate my new career less than the others.

If you truly hate it to some degree, I'd be cautious in investing too much time and money into a venture you may not stick with.

For most of us being a carpet cleaner got in our blood and is hard to get away from. The flexibility in schedule, the satisfaction one gets from the results we are able to deliver, gives us pride in our work. Maybe after decades of slinging a wand I could see where one would dislike it. But if you're fairly new and already have doubts, it's going to be a tough haul for you down the road.

That’s definitely true. We still have some cleaning accounts but we don’t push it. Tbh we got bored cleaning and pursued other ventures. That said I know it’s a good field and still wouldn’t mind having someone on a truck for me.

I’m just here to learn how to be an old white guy.

I actually wanted to start over and clean carpet, upholstery only. But my wife says I'm too fat and too old. Probably right but I've seen fatter, older guys do it.

Of course I also wanted to start a lawn care business and she said no to that also.

I trotted our car detailer too. Buy a baby Transit and set it up for detailing. A good polisher and great products can really make a difference.

She said I just need to go work at the sporting goods store and give up on the business ideas.

Theres always someone around to pop your balloon. lol

that tickles
go spray some bug spray, janitor
stick to financials and leave the gearhead stuff to those that know how to change a light bulb.
You're out of your lane .
You know it and I know it

swivels will be a thing of the past in 5 years .
they'll be in the dusty corner with Greenbean wands and Boss sprayers ..
