How many regular size homes should I be able to cover until I have to empty?

300 psi, two jet hydro wand, Boxxer 421 TM

Just wondering if I can streach my tank out farther.

Next step is to get a auto pump out.

Depends.....

on jet size and PSI and how you clean. Why only 300 PSI?

I would guess with that set up you could do about 3.5 average size whole house cleanings. I bet at least 80% of the owner ops here don't have auto pump out. When you start running more than one truck it becomes a little more improtant as techs might not always be smart enough to keep the the tank empty and not get you in trouble.

there's no hard and fast numbers on that...too many variables
light soil vs heavy soil, you're wanding style
thorough flush/rinse extract or a quick skim

I don't know how many gal the Boxer waste tank is
but our TM has a 105gal tank...I'm "guessing" the actual capacity before the full tank shut off trips is appx 90 gal.
At 300 psi and 06 flow jetting, we could clean anywhere from 1200 to 3000sf depending on carpet condition

with 15 flow at about 500psi, a decent sized house will use up 75gals.
A big sectional can use up 50 with the highflow uph tool
with 300psi and 6flow, prob not more than 50gal for a house

I advise HM owners to purchase the 100 gal. tank. Lasts most of the day. Using high flow. In your case a pump out would be good.

What is the reason for not dumping on every job? Why carry around the extra weight?

Bingo, Gene, that's exactly what I was thinking. Why the need for such a big ass waste tank, when a puny little auto dumper will do the job, and you won't be wasting fuel, or putting extra wear on your vehicle lugging around that crap.

If you work in the northeast, not every house has a clean out in their drive way. People get kind of weird when you dump at their homes, much more professional to dispose of it back at your shop.

Yeah the issue with not dumping on site, which is what I do at most resi. I do alot of work on a military base and they for some stupid reason will not let you dump on base. Really sucks!!! I was using 450 psi but I am trying to streach my tank. May end up expanding on the existing tank.

I'm ASSuming you mean ground dumping and not draining in sanitary sewer drain.

if that's the case....
if the van isn't way down hill from the house's interior, you can cuff your vac hose to the dump valve port and drain back into a toilet or other suitable sized sanitary drain.
We've done that before in com buildings where ground dumping wasn't legal or couldn't be done discreetly.

we've also used a "po-boy" pump out in the past.
which is just a utility sump pump dropped in the waste tank.
It's a PITA, cause you have to shut down, move the tank lid over or off and drop in the pump to pump out.
but it works in a pinch if you can't ground dump legally.
and it still takes much less time than leaving the job to find the nearest car wash
