Does anyone know What states make you have to pay Business equipment property tax? I know Idaho's is 2-3 % per year on all of the equipment you use for your business. They told me that there are 33 states that do this.

Yes Kansas has for as long as I can remember!

Not only equipment, but office equipment, PC's, copiers, desks, chairs, table filing cabinets, just about anything of value.......the state taxes us on. :x

Tennessee had that tax. They came each year from the county tax office to check on what you had. Enforced pretty strictly in our area.

Here in Wisconsin the locals assess and collect "Personal Property Tax". I don't think it is a state statute.

Yes they used to say it was for schools now they just say it is for what ever they please in TN. It is one of my most hated taxes since I pay City & County every year & it went up allot based on the Big Bear Truck.
