advertise in their HOA newletter or in church bulletins and does it pay off?

My in-laws had sponsored an ad for us for years in the Catholic church bulletin .
I had plenty custys from that church, but none ever mentioned the ad.
When I asked how they found us, it was always,

"Lois" told us about you"

I tried it a couple years but no real response. I don't think many people actually look at it.

As a retailer, have been in both the catholic church bulletins and the local lutherin digest.. We have been part of our catholic parish for about 30 years and when it was rebuilt, we did all the flooring in it at cost of material only. So far from those adds we have gotten more business from the lutheran digest than from any of our parishioners or even sister parishes in th area. Soo..... we dropped that adervtisement this year. Saved about 1300 dollars as well.
