Got a really nice carpet to clean tomorrow morning, a cream nylon. Has a patch where a bed used to be that a dog has continuously slept on. The dog obviously found the spot under the bed inviting and dark and chose to put itself there each night.

I've checked for puss and found my culprits so we're all good there. Just a bit daunted by how bad this dog oil patch really is.

Normally I'd smash it with PH 9 pre-spray boosted with citrus and oxygen.

I look at this spot though and wonder if it will be enough? I don't have a hyperactive pre-spray such as Flex on hand at present.

I have besides the Scot's Tuff PH 9 spray and boosters I have a Release It Encap Punch, Release It Encap Clean DS and VacAway Encap Green.

I usually do well with my regular PH 9 spray, it doesn't smell doggy in there.

What would you do?

Nuke it with S&G, scrub, acid rinse.

I keep a variety from 8-deep dark purple ph on the rig. And use it all.

Hit that area with the citrus combo you have. Get all the heat you can.

Pre scrub with something and give it dwell time.

Bet it rinses right off.

With what you have I'd pad off the the heaviest stuff first. Get the big nasty bulk off on your pads and then deal with the rest (HWE) as usually would. If it still looks dark in that area after HWE pad that area with some Encap juice.

Thanks to everybody for the suggestions. I did the job today. It came out OK. I can still see shadowing now I have come home and loaded the pictures into my computer. The customer was happy and I think I have secured ongoing patronage.

I used Scot's Tuff PowerMax LVC with OxyShot!, CitrusBoost and some CleanScent to fight the dog odour. In retrospect the PowerMax is a little bit anaemic for this kind of soiling. I will go in search of a hotter PH encap I can HWE rinse.
