DooDaddy's filter box

I've had this filter box for a couple of months, but this past week is the first real test I have been able to give it. I have been really busy this past week with residential cleaning jobs, and I spent 23 hours cleaning a school, as well. I was so busy that I went the whole week without emptying and cleaning my filter box. Tonight, when I got home, I finally took the time to clean it because I sure didn't want to get in the van on Monday and have it smelling like danny.

When I pulled the box out, I noticed that there was about a gallon of water in the bottom of it, and the basket was so full of debris that when I pulled it out, the water didn't drain out from the bottom of the filter basket. That's a ton of crap. It was packed almost full, yet I never noticed any drop in vacuum efficiency during cleaning. I have two more schools to clean starting again on Monday and it's nice not to have that stuff clogging up an in-line filter.

Hey, Mardy...

Thanks for the report. When I designed the UltraFlow, I made sure that it wouldn't interfere with airflow, even as full as 1 inch from the top for the filter.

Capacity for the one you have is about 8 times that of a pool filter type, which is intentional, so that it doesn't have to be emptied after every job. (I didn't expect for it to take quite as long to get full as it does, though.)

One thing that deserves mention is that the connections do not come through the lid. So you don't have to disconnect it in order to clean the filter.

Thanks,

Duane

Take my advice and don't mount it to the floor though, cuz you need to be able to take it out to clean out the inside of the box itself. It's always got a quart, or so, of dirty water in it, and some debris around the ledge that holds the basket in.

DUane...i gots a question! How come you don use the filter system that Steam Genie found so successful for so long...no boxes ..no panty hose...jus a SS filter that slips over the inlet in the waste tank...it's O so easy!

curious.....

Ummm...

Because, in my opinion, I designed a better one.

1.) Larger capacity (approx. 4 gallons)

2.) 2.5" in and out (with 2.5" from the wand and 3" to the machine, and (2) 2" ports to the wand and a 2.5" or 3" to the system available)

3.) Compact, so that it doesn't take up a lot of floor space

4.) Even at 1" from being absolutely full, it doesn't interfere with air flow

5.) It's not a "bag"... it's a stainless steel basket, so it doesn't act like a slinky when you lift it.

6.) You don't have to access the recovery tank to clean it out. You can put it anywhere that you want, for more convenience...

(I probably forgot something in the above, but you get the idea.)
