E-TES FOR DRYING DOCUMENTS

Any pointers for using the e-tes to dry photo's, personal documents? Have a client who wants me to try.

We use bread racks, they allow air to pass over them on all sides.

You really don't need the heat, just air movement and a controlled enviroment.

You can re-wet photo's that are stuck together without harming them.

The biggest thing is separation and monitoring, it takes up a lot of space.

Papers still end up curled on the edges but at least they have the document.

"If" you need more heat, place a piece of paper on the inlet screen of the airmover. This will slow down the airmovement and increase the temperature. If you are in your warehouse it is fine, a little cheesy looking on the jobsite.

Depending on how quickly you get the documents or how quickly you can separate them, mold may be an issue. In the past we have sprayed any mold on paper documents with "Mold Control". You can get it at Home Depot. EPA registered, but so safe you can drink it. We had a client that needed the documents even though they had started to mold before we took possession. Lot's of employee contracts. We had well over a 100 boxes of documents. We heated them in a drying chamber in our warehouse to 120-130F until we could get them properly separated for drying. This dried much of the outer layer of the documents and seemed to stop the growth of the mold. We separated them, sprayed with Mold Control and finished drying. A signed release regarding the mold is must in this scenario.
