What is the purpose of these tanks? I have one that I think is going bad but I'm not sure. The water box on 1 of our Bluelines will start over flowing during a job. My first thought was it's the float in the water box but that seems to be fine every time we check it. Could the bladder tank build up pressure and force water to hard to the water box causing it to over flow?

I'm not that familiar with the water box valve on Blueline units but I'll bet its a wear issue in the valve. Is that valve rebuildable or have a piston tip like older PC units?

The bladder in the water transfer pump is used as a reservoir so your pump doesn't run and shut off so often.

If you water box is overflowing, you might check the Rosta Valve that is located under the water box. It is a large valve used for preheating. You can pull the guts out or bypass it. It's a pretty expensive part if you want to replace it.

Water is not compressible (within reason) but air easily is. Bladder tanks build water pressure by having an air filled bladder that the pumped water pushes against. The more water that is pumped, the harder the water pushes, the harder the air filled bladder stretches and pushes back against the water, pressurizing it without compressing or actually pumping the water.
