How much juice (KW) does a 1500wt ceramic heater use an hour?

I know what the 'lectric Co charges me pr KW.
if i knew how many KWs a typical 1500wt ceramic heater uses, I wouldn't have to "guesstimate" how much it costs to heat the van

thAnks-a-bunch

1.5 per hour

I see you moved the decimal point.

help a brother out that can barely count change and clarify.

that's one and a half "KW" pr hour, right?

so if the 'lectric Co charges .10 cents pr KW unit, that would make the cost fifteen cents pr hour?

That would be correct.

.15/hr * 10 hrs/day = $1.50/day

$1.50/day * 30 days/mo. = $45.00/mo.

$45.00/mo. * 5 cold months/yr = $225.00/yr

Cheap insurance if you ask me.

Kilo meant thousand watt is the measurement of power being used. so 1500 watts equals 1.5 KW or 1.5 thousand watts.

you're right on the charge of 15 cents per hour. But the heater probably isn't running at peak the whole time with a thermostat unless it's super cold all the time. So it may cost you less.

Power down here is just under 10 cents per KW and my freaking power bill is near 200 bucks a month. Ticks me off....last year the highest bill we had was 160. Hopefully they will come down on power soon since gas came down but I doubt it's gonna happen.

Sorry, yes I put the decimal in the wrong place before I hit submit so had to correct.
You are correct that in your case it would cost 15 cents per hour WHEN running.
