When you estimate an office bld with all the cubbies and separate offices, do you...
a)measure every sq foot?
b)measure the L X W of the whole space and deduct a standard % for desks, walls ect.

If B is your answer, how much is your % deducted?

If it was a big room with cubicles, I would measure the whole room, then measure the offices separately and lower the sq.ft. price accordingly. All comes down to how long I would take to do, and when it's done. I only do late afternoon/ early evening jobs, so if it would take more than 2-4 hours, I would pass on the job altogether.

Deduction hell no!!!!!!!

You know how much time is spent going around all that crap!!!

As I told managers when bidding strip and wax... They wanted deduction cuz of gondolas..."well sir it takes more time to go around the gondolas, then if it was all open..So I will deduct for that if i can charge a linear foot price for the edging"

then they get it

I don't deduct because I clean under the desks and remove the chair mat unless customer says no to removing it

if there is no chair mat then this area usually needs more attention to clean it to acceptable appearance
