Last year right before covid19, new client hired me to clean 1 room and staircase. Ez pzzy. The husband and I got along very well and chatted for a little while before starting my expertise. While cleaning saw the carpet lose on a few stairs so I tighten it the Barry Costa way...thank you bro for your teachings!
The lady of the House was a few months pregnant so I thought she might lose her balance on the stairs and get hurt. Wrote ‘no charge’ on the bill and told them why.
They wrote a check, I didn’t look at it until I left to the next adventure. It blow my mind their generosity...$400 extra. Called them to make sure it was not a mistake. They insisted I keep it cause ‘the Lord told them to bless me’. Hey no arguing with the Lord...you know.
Biggest tip ever...blow me away.

Have you ever encountered a generous customer?

Here I thought this was going to be a thread about useful information tips to make life easier. But anyway I have one customer that gives me a $300 tip everytime I clean for them.

My customer gave me this as a tip earlier this year. I saw on eBay that similar ones were around $800 in cost.

I'd think it would have much more regional value.

Although during the Pandemic t.p. shortage you could probably sell it to a Yankee.

Of course it wouldn't be my first choice but if I was desperate "Look away, look away , look away!". 🤭

Seriously Matt that's pretty cool!

I've told this one before but it was from a guy who owned a temp staffing agency with multiple locations around our service area. While cleaning his home we cleaned, deodorized, and protected every piece of upholstery and inch of carpet. To be honest, it was barely dirty and many of the rooms looked like they hadn't been walked in for a while but we still put it all through the pony show. The bill was close to 3k when we were done and was an all-day project.

Anyways, while cleaning his home office, there were five 100 bills tucked under some papers. Of course, I never touched them. He asked us to call him when we were wrapping up so we could walk through and settle the bill. Offered him some shoe covers when he got there and we did the walkthrough and the last room we looked at was the home office. He wrote the check and just as we were getting ready to step out he handed me the $500 from the desk.

He explained that he's hired 3 other companies over the last two years and all of them have taken at least one or more of the $100 bills. Those companies also cleaned the carpets in his temp agency offices too. The sad part is, they all did great work and he was more than happy with the results and would have continued using them. We ended up getting all the temp agency offices on quarterly contract and his home bi-annually from that encounter which equaled 28k and change each year.

That’s quite a story! But, remember I’m the one that got the piano bench as a tip. I still can’t get over the size of it🤷🏼‍♂️

I often have customers leave money out, wallets, purses, etc. I always wonder if it's a test.

It is in my service, but less likely in yours most likely. A lot of times people in class A buildings will do that for various reasons🙄😡 Thats why I don’t do Class A buildings. Too many personalities.

Man what a fantastic payoff for your honesty! Sounds to me he was waiting for the right person to entrust his offices to.
Nice man....very very nice.
