Fan hours

I was looking at some of the hours on my fans today. I have alot of the Phoenix axials with over 9000 hours on them. Some probably more but the hour meters don't work on some anymore. They are pretty reliable too, since I have only replaced the motors on two of them. I have about 50 of these.

Anybody have fans with more hours?

Some of those old Dri-eaz fans that are still out there would probably hold the record but they never came with hour meters.

I wish I had some with hour meters, no real purpose other than curiosity in their age.

Air movers are really such a bargain, very little maintenance, most will take a pretty good pounding and still hold together.

They run forever, a 10-year old airmover charges off the same as a brand new one.

I know some airmovers I sold long ago have changed hands a couple of times are are still running after more than 20-years.

No, I don't have 9000 hours on any of my Phoenix air movers. You may want to take a picture of the air movers showing the hour meter and send it to Phoenix, I am sure they would appreciate it. 9000 hours is over a year of run time or 375 days at $30 per day = $11250, not a bad return on a $325 to $375 investment.
I would prefer that the hour meters on the Phoenix air movers and dehumidifiers be able to reset to show the hours that were run on a specific job. I am more concerned with equipment shutting off due to power issues or customers turning off equipment, than the over all life of the equipment.

I hear what you are saying Kevin although having the equipment turned off by the customer is not generally a problem for me.

What made me think about it was that when I was talking to Phoenix the other day they said that a fan motor should last 4000-5000 hours. I have got nearly double that on a lot of fans.

So just curious as to what others have on theirs.

I just bought 10 of it's sisters last week. In fact, looking at some of the numbers, I actually have 2176 as well as 1600's and 2300's.

I actually bought the turbos and the 1200 dehu all well below half new cost and then decided to buy the 10 Sirocco's as they were cheap and as said above, they still charge the same as the new ones. In fact, with the weather related work lately, I had all my previous gear out and half of the new stuff so I'm over 30% of them paying their own way already.

On the subject of RIO, none of my fans have hour meters but all my dehus do.

In the past couple of months, I've had an LGR2000 and 3 1200's all go round the clock and reset after passing 10,000 hours.

For us, an LGR2000 pulls $160/day plus tax and that works out over $60,000 and I've replaced the filter unit once. Only other cost is electrical checks.

For the 1200's, I get $80/day, again exclusive of tax and they work out over $30,000 each. Again only filter replacement when cleaning no longer does it and one of the 1200's I've had to replace a computer.

I love this trade and some people are too short sighted to see the value of investing in PROFESSIONAL equipment
