Putting together another TM.

We rebuilding a frame blower and pump I bought. ( engine I think is toast )

Going to heat it with Propane, remove all heat exchangers. ( heat exchangers I think are toast )

I did this with another.. Used a Honda Gx620.. 20hp...

Was thinking of the Honda GX630 for this one.
But, interested in you thoughts.

BTW, ,I get pretty good heat with the other, and pre heat the mix tank with a blower heat exchanger.
Plan on doing the same on this one.

At 15" Hg and 3600 RPM, a 45 blower requires 14.4 hp, and a 47 needs 19 hp. A 3 gpm 1200 psi pump will need another 2.5 hp on top of that, according to the spec sheets.

The GX630 is rated 20.2 net hp, too small for the 47, and pushed pretty hard even for the 45. I'd do as already mentioned and go with a 25 hp engine. It will live a lot longer.

The GX620 is actually rated 20 hp MAX, with recommended operating hp of 18.

Becker;

My choice would be the new 34HP Kohler Command Plus.

It has 200 hour maintenance intervals . . .
with the larger air filter, oil cooler and large oil capacity.

Torque levels are great.

We used to use Honda 24HP, but now favor this engine.

18hp can push it, but a 20+ hp will work better. Kohler, Honda, briggs in that order for heat and preference, opposite order for fuel economy.(briggs, honda, kohler). If no heat exchanger then a personal choice. Might be easier to stick to what you already have on the machine so it is a bolt on.
