Favorite extraction cleaner

For the guys who don't use pre-sprays, just wondering what your favorite chems are, green or regular.

Fresh water. (sometimes acid rinse)


Use prespray and prescrub and donnbeahack.


I know you asked the guys that don't use prespray.... But I don't think you'll find too many around here.

Using Flex Ice and Axiom Detergent Rinse depending on job, but I might be switching to Liqua Pro and Last Step. And Yes, I pre spray and agitate first. Otherwise I would feel like I was just banging my head against the wall.

Formula 90 by chemspec is a good extraction formula.
Sometimes I will only use a extraction rinse on those already clean carpets.
Lift up the wand and prespray. Or another way to do it is spray on the upstroke and then spray on the back stroke and do some dry passes.

Any well formulated detergent from a good company will do.
Many jobs (not the heavily soiled ones or certain soils) , can be cleaned just as well with inline detergent rinse. It will just require more or slower passes.

Formula 90 does rock...it's been a long time since I've used it though.

Why not use a detergent such as Formula 90 as a prespray?

You can. However pre-sprays are somewhat formulated differently.
More wetting agents and various solvents etc. Therefore, in heavy soiled carpets they will save you time and help the rinse remove more.

Back in the early 80's I used a product by "zep" 12.5ph with a 60psi or rather pos portable. We presprayed with ammonia and rinsed with zep. Even with only 60 psi and almost no vacuum, the carpets came out like new. Sometimes, a little crunchy.
