I need a high speed burnisher. This one is a Pacific 2000 rpm.

Any thoughts?. He'll take $250.00

Is there anything I should look out for when I'm looking at this thing?. Never even ran a high speed before.

2000 rpm burnishers are not worth beens. They pull too much current to be useful. That's why they have the idler wheel on the front to prevent the pad from making any kind of serious contact to the floor. You'd be much better served with a 1500, 1200, or even a 1000 rpm machine. You really need to have some pad pressure on the floor to be useful for popping a shine, and a 2000 rpm machine can't deliver that on account of the idler wheel.

1500 is the largest on a 15 amp circuit. larger and you start popping breakers. Rick is right.

I have a two minuteman...... one 1500 and one 2000............. We use both on 100 foot extensdion cords at times.. The 2000 gives a little bit better shine.. But the 1500 is just fine.. Of course I use hogs hair pads so they shine everything! just my 2 cents

Nobles/tenant Speedshine's are 2000rpm and don't have the 3rd wheel. We have 2 speedshines and a couple Windsor lightning 1500rpm machines. The speedshines provide better gloss.

Thanks for the replies all. The machine is mainly to burnish a concrete microtopping which the manufacturers say it's best to use 3000 rpm propane. I figured 2000 was at least close. I do very little concrete so I think I'm just going to rent one for the day.

EEE, thanks for the offer.

Albert. 2000 is NOT 3000. Close does not count. Do it right the first time. I have a small propane unit here that you can have cheap. Let me make sure it is still here and you can have it for $250 but the shipping will be at least that.
