What products would that be that cut grease like Delim, don't dry your skin, and are healthful to breathe? What do you use?

hogjowl said:I have suffered from this for years and years. I have tried every possible solution. I've put Vaseline on my hands at night and worn gloves to keep them soft. I've tried Crack Cream, in fact, I was one of the first to bring it to attention on the boards back in the 90's. It was a joke product I sent around to counter Jimmy Ladwigs electro-cobs he would send to people. (Good times.)
Anyway, nothing worked except one thing. Super glue.
As soon as the cracks start to form, put some super glue (of any type) in the crack and it will stop it spreading and end the relentless pain. I keep a tube in each vehicle and use it as needed.
Porkchop does your uncle use desiccants? I have a relative that works for Bell and the rub desiccant powder on the lines to remove moisture. If he is getting it on his hands it would dry them out too!I think there are factors involved that are not a part of this industry. I have an uncle who has never worked in this business. He is a Bell South lineman and works with electrical things. As far as I know, he doesn't touch chemicals at work and since he is a real man, he doesn't wash dishes at home. Yet, he has the same problem with this as I do, and as my Dad does. My Dad is a retired steel worker. One thing we all have in common is we work with our hands and are outside a good bit of the time.
