I haven't cleaned many of them but just got a bid request from the City of Des Moines. They have 10 stations ranging from 1080 ft.² to 7776 ft.². Most are under 1500 ft.².

Any ideas what to expect? Not sure if it's for me.

Are they filthy?

Zipper time?

They are, but if it were mine I'd want it done that thorough too. :winky:
Me too. I just know what those steps intail and will have to price accordingly.

I'm sure it's not their first rodeo. Seems like they know what they are looking for.

Maybe that's why they called us?!?!?! :headbang:

Wow, pretty demanding list for the price they're willing to pay (guessing). I'd probably not win this bid but I would explain to the purchaser our recommended process and that it may differ from your specifications but you will be thrilled with the results. (Let us be the cleaning experts and go put out a f'n fire.)

Oh, and I cannot guarantee a thorough, deep cleaning and super fast dry times. Dry times will be reasonable and usually within 2-6 hours for most carpets.

It's too bad that the bid will probably be won by a company that prices low, and ignores their request for method.

I do our local fire department at 10 cents a sq foot for that process(no post bonnet) and no furniture moving at all. I consider as advertising, fireman make very good money. They all sit around and watch what i do and tell there wifes what happened at work. My $150 two hour job in one year has netted me over $3,000 from firemens homes cleaned. I do leave every fireman with a bottle of spotter with my company name on it.

Don't show them to much process or money that can be made. We have 3 firemen in my area that clean carpet on their time off. One of them has a Vortex. Remember, they work a couple of 24 hour shifts and then off for a few days. A lot of them have other jobs.

I do ours here....was even high bidder....

Actually, it was and is fairly easy....

Spray.....some CRB scrub....extract....

Last time we wanded them because we did not have the Zippers....

Now....it would be so fast and simple....would be ridiculous easy...

Yeah we have a few firemen who also clean carpet on the side. And they have some of the best equipment. But they also charge cheap. Not a very good image for the rest of us who want to make a living and not just to make beer money.
