Well I did my first carpet clean today, a good learning curve, something I need is a properly setup van rather than wands and hoses laying in the back. Just makes setting up that 1% harder I guess. Something else I learnt I should overlap...left a nice white strip between the two sections I was working on. But.....I've learnt now...more things I do need to learn I am sure.

I couldn't get out one spot though...not sure how long it had been there for and if it was bile or urine. I spotted it, then HWE and still a slight stain left.

I was using FabriPower Plus as a pre spray and for spotting I used Coffee Break.

I should have taken before and after photos...Ive got a job on tomorrow so will do that :)

Thanks

Rob

So you left a white strip because you didnt overlap ??? Or was there a lighter strip where you overlap .. Im thinking youre puddling where you overlap allowing the detergent to sit longer in that strip making it lighter .. If thats the case, youd want to let go of the trigger at the end of your stroke and suck up the puddle .. that will eliminate the possibility of a lighter strip ..

anything yellowish usually has a slim chance of removal .. I would spray some stain zone let it sit a bit try rinsing and maybe lightly spray and leave it .. hopefully it lightens over time ..

She just died at the sight of him.

nooooooo!

the old bitty had flower pots sitting on the carpet...
so i moved them and started cleaning..
IT SEEMS....that they musta been there for years..getting watered..
when i got to that spot....
the carpet had turned to dust...
and i sucked a perfectly round HOLE out!
well she worked herself into a tizzy...
even calling her daughter saying that the carpet cleaner was killing her...
then died....REALLY...she fell right over!
i 'bout soiled mysef....
the cops got there first and had me in the back of the cop car......for a while..
they finally figgured it out and let me go....the worst part was.....
i never got paid!

I would say the two biggest rookie mistakes are think more soap will get it cleaner faster, and over wetting where the wand start and stops creating brown outs.

That story from Bawb will not (yes I typed NOT) be the weirdest story you read from him...it just scratches the surface.

Two tips

Get a 175 floor machine and Service Monster ASAP

I've been cleaning for @ 15 years and am only going to begin scrubbing with a 175 now. Listen to Mike, I think this step is going to give me the thorough cleaning I need to to set us apart. Start it now...Service Monster is great too. I waited way too long to begin that too. It's been about a year with SM and I can't believe I dealt with all that paper for so long. Good luck!
