The other trades (plumbers, the ac guys, and electricians) use flat rate pricing.

I've researched it. The principal of flat rate pricing is interesting.

On residential call in customers we use flat rate pricing with sqft max's in place. It works out good for us and about the only time we charge extra is for heat transfers and stains that take a little longer to remove.

Bob Foster,

They have four price range:

1.) Initial Task: Standard rate for customers. The highest price. This includes your overhead cost per hour, net profit, set up/breakdown/prep cost/trip charge. As cc, it can be broken down to cost per sq. ft. I would use this for first time customers.

2.) Initial Task: Service agreement customers. The second highest price. Multiply #1 (standard rate) for service agreement customers (in our case, past customers) by .85%.

3.) Add on: Standard rate for customers. You add this to your initial task (#2).

4.) Add on:Service agreement customers. Discount 15% lower than the add on for standard customers (#3). Add to the initial service agreement customers. I would use this for past customers.

Thats how they do it .
