Being DC I'd guess it don't really matter if you screw up. You got a 50-50 shot all it will do is make the motor run backwards if you wire it up wrong.

Well I wouldn't know that part. I can go out and look at my fresh tank tomorrow and see if I can see if there is some sort of switch that goes to the bladder. But I'm sure someone really smart like Shawn will tell us how it's really done before then.

The diaphragm pumps have a pressure switch to turn the pump on and off.

I assume that is the part with the 2 wires. One goes to the switch and the other goes to the pump motor.

If you hook it up properly, it should shut off the pump when the pressure switch reaches the set pressure.

If it does not, either the switch is not working or the pump is not building up to the required pressure.
