Since I have been the topic of some behind the scenes discussion, I figured I would take a moment to clear up some miscommunications on my part. I was asked if I worked for Goodrich Supplies.
Yes, I work for Goodrich Supplies part time as a mechanic, but also work part time as a Cleaning Tech. I have been in the industry 8 years, all with Bob. Bob was unaware of the post I made. It was never my intention to pose as anything other than a guy who was excited about my new truck. Although the truck belongs to the company, myself and the other Techs often call them “our truck”. That sense of ownership cannot be a bad thing.
I did not think that the post I made was promotional, as it was meant to be informational in nature. I have no financial gain in these frames. I figured carpet cleaning guys would appreciate the news- I mean, who wouldn’t want the option to have the availability of a Ford truck along with a Prochem machine. (And I freely admit I am partial to Prochem units and Fords, as I have worked with a number of different brands and didn’t like them.)
I’m sorry if my post was misread by some as an advertisement, which it was in no way meant to be.

Now that's funny. I can't tell you how many times I have heard cleaners say Butlers are too high priced, but they're in the $65,000 range fully loaded.
You never heard me say that plus the transit is a completely different van

Ok me and my buddies were up in Oregon a week or so ago and the company was doing a install in a new Ford T. I have to say the van is very impressive the size or style of the new vans makes them appear bigger.
The no drill zone is PRETTY dang big, but they also had a frame to place the SS 570 on. I guess the no drill zone is because there is a HUGE fuel tank that sits in this area.
The window sticker price that was still on this van was 38,000 +- a little.
This is the funny thing, the installer made the comment that a standard Chevy, Ford extended vans had more usable floor space, it was a first install in one of these vans and he said at first he was very impressed, but after trying to fit it all in the Ford T, after pulling it out of the regular EX van he felt the only real gain was in walk around room.
They have a cleaning van they take out for demos and he also made the comment the extra height would really affect a lot of guys due to parking issues.
I liked it a lot loved the cab area very open feeling. nice in large for advertisement, and I guess they get decent mileage, time we tell how well they fit into our type of business.
Think when these start getting sold second hand HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE GOING TO SLAM BOLTS IN THE NO DRILL ZONE due to nobody giving them the low down of why the floor is so hole free.

Some of you can make it sound like there is no "no drilling zone" in the old Econoline or GMC type vans....

Trust me: a few thousand carpet suckers will not be influencing these vehicle manufacturers. These types of vans have worked out all over the world for decades. Only in america where people are still hung up on the idea of up to date vans. Some of you really want the old 1970s technology.... Escapes me why.

By the way, I recognize that there is a bit of contradiction in my previous post. But saying the euro vans have worked out for decades is not the same as the American vans being decades old in technology.

I never said that a TM couldn't be mounted in the full size Transit.

I did say that it is poor engineering for a work van to have so much no-drill area on the floor . .

Even PTO's are possible. It is just that the required engineering will be expensive . . .

and you cleaners will be paying thousands more for Euro & Asian designs with the same performance . . .

Hey, don't get me wrong. . I don't like these vans!

The truck in the picture is Prochems demo van. This truck mount was installed with Fords direction.. I haven't looked at the "no drill zone" real close, but I guarantee they are all up in it..

I crawled under it, and it's a simple install. .
