Are you happy happy happy? I'm needing a new set of wheels soon and tell me the good, the bad and the ugly......

We currently have (3) of them and I'd like another when the new model comes out.

I'd like to get it before Lockhart gets his.

My younger brother went on a cruise for 10-days and I drove his Transit while he was gone. I loved it, I'd drive one everyday but I live out in the sticks and she is too low, it would get stuck in my drive in the winter. (I need to get a blade & winch on my 4-wheeler)

The good:
Good gas mpg
Smooth going down the highway
Ample cargo area
Dual doors allow you to operate from either side
Nice stereo
Large windshield allows great vision

The bad:
She isn't as smooth in the city as a car, stiff like a pickup ride
Dumbass key has to be with you to unlock gas cap or back doors
Mirrors remotes are on the center console
Floor needs a covering, carpeted plywood?

Wish I could make those lil guys work. Still holding out for the new fullsize model.

The fullsize transits got pushed back..... for the third time.

Jan 2015 is what they say now.

Nissan has it's own version of the new ford transit model - I believe it's called the N200, I saw one the other day, looks just like that transit (the new model).

I'd be interested to see how those NV200's fair after some age and miles in our industry with the CVT tranny's they have in them. Not a common tranny in commercial applications.

The AAA here delivers/sells batteries and uses the Transit. They do fleet maint. and get 150k miles out of them with 40 35 pound batteries and subframe to support the batteries. I was pretty impressed. I see Sapphire and Accelerated/Duane Oxley has installed their machines.

We just installed our first Sapphire Scientific Ford Transit Connect Package with the SS370. I met this customer at a rental yard on a Sunday. He had a Transit with the doors open and inside were some carpet cleaning tools. I asked him a stupid question----Are you a carpet cleaner? He said he was, so I asked him if he was interested in putting a Truckmount in his Transit someday. He said he was working on plans to build one to fit. That's when the sales person jumped out in me. I told him about the SS Transit Package.
After it was installed I followed up to see how it was working. This customer has been cleaning with Truckmounts and Portables for quite some time. In his exact words " This thing Kicks Ass".
He is using it for Carpet cleaning and Tile and Grout cleaning. It has enough room to hold a CRB and 12" and 7" Tile tools and all the chemicals.

This was probably the easiest install that we have done. The package comes with a frame that fits inside the cargo area. Pre drilled holes on the frame are there to bolt everything to the frame. There is a 25 gallon waste tank with a APO. The Transit handles the additional 600+ lbs with no problems.

Not sure if I'd want to run it out of a tiny vehicle like that but if you wanted to or needed to, that's a neat option! :icon_cool:
