One of my machines - powerflite - is really getting my goat. two 5.7 three stage vacs in series one would think should recover a decent amount of water from 35 feet. I measured the lift on 3 different gauges.14 inches of mercury on one, over 180 water column(they got pegged) but really crappy recovery.I tried it from 15 feet and if I lean the wand on it's side water runs out.I've checked for obstructions in the wand and hoses- nothing. It's run like crap since I swapped out the vacs. No leakage where the vacs are mounted or at the stand pipe. I like the heat the machine generates, the pump is a pump, but the vacuum (doesn't) sucks. I know it needs to get more air flow but you would think it should be enough for short hose runs. Any ideas?

Sounds like a Cobb special, all lift and no whoosh.
Very little - I bet it could pick up a bowling ball though . I'm probably going to get a manifold built to convert it to parallel but with the heat exchange coils over the vacuum motors it's not going to be easy. Steambrite has a booster that sits on top, but it defeats the purpose of a 3 cord higher heat machine. Other design flaws, but this oned really frustrates me.
