What are you charging to apply protector on furniture?
Chairs
sofas
sectionals
etc.

And what kind of sprayer are you using?

50% of the cleaning cost is what I charge on upholstery. I use my Penguin sprayer with the upholstery sprayer tip.

$10-20 per linear foot. Depending on fabric and complexity of job. I like the handheld electric airless sprayers because they put out a finer spray (adjustable) than an electric pump but don't create as much mist in the air as compressed air. Easy to use and good coverage. I have an extended flexible tube with a fine tip.

Standard price for protector is about half of what cleaning costs.

The sprayer should apply an even covering. I like an 8004 tip but many companies suggest a smaller tip such as 8002 or 6002.

As I mentioned in a different thread, we are seeing some good results with foaming sprayer.

Per square yard or linear foot?
Square yard is much more accurate as far as how much yarn you are actually applying protector to.
Some of these multi pillows all cushions detachable sofas can be easily be twice to three times the amount applied.

Do these prices include any sort of warranty?

Can you apply protector over shampoo?

I've tested it, and it hasn't worked. I've even tested it on fabrics that I "overpresprayed and under extracted", and it didn't work.

Strange exception to the rule:

I used an encap product, then ran an orbital buffer and a towel over the fabric to remove as much as I could, then I applied protector.

THAT worked.

Here it is. Probably same as what you had. To avoid clogging, rinse after use. After water based product, just blow some water through it. For solvent based products, blow some oms through it. This one is at least 5 years old, still works great. You can buy different tips for it.

The little multi sprayer works great for pre-spray and protector.
I very much doubt that the "atomized" sprayer gives better coverage. Actually I would think the electrical multi sprayer will do a better job as the volume, flow and consistency is likely to be better.

Faster too.

Have to be careful not to over wet natural fabrics, especially if you have just cleaned them and are still damp. You should wear a respirator every time you apply any protector. You don't want to be breathing it. The electric multi sprayers are great for synthetic fibres and carpets but you will need a small jet for natural fabrics.

I used to use that type too. I saw the furniture stores use one so I did it too. The problem is they are awful loud and put atomized flurochemical into the mainstream. I switch and use the Hydroforce solvent pump up with the gun applicator.
