Did a tile and grout job a week ago. Really awesome results. Really drastic before and after.
The owner calls me. I'm expecting praise. Says she can't tell a difference. As in it looks exactly the same.

Showed her the pics. She says "oh ok never mind" and literally walked away.
Down for every 3 months on the schedule.
People are crazy.

Had a lady scheduled for a sectional and a chair. She had asked on the phone about 3 small mats. My wife told her 20 for the three. When I get there she says she only wants the mats cleaned. Like for 20 bucks. I explained the minimum charge and she gos noodles. Nobody mentioned that. Well of course not she had scheduled a lot more. I told her I won't clean them for 20.I am not allowed to go lower than the minimum. But I will clean then for free. Have a great day.
On line reviews have ripped my spine out when it comes to standing up to bad Customers.
30 mile round trip. The crud eating part of this biz is mind numbing. But it beats ticking off someone who can take ten minutes on yelp and cost my family thousands.

Been shooting a bunch of pics everyday for just the same reason....JUST IN CASE....

So far, I have not had that experience like Justin's for awhile..... (Thankfully!)

But I am always thinking....BE PREPARED!

By the way , if using them on Facebook, stay focused on the work (focus camera on carpet, tile & grout, Upholstery) and keep the environment around you out of them as much as possible.

We had about a 2000 sq ft commercial tile job that could have cost us a ton of money if we hadn't taken "before" pictures....

When our Account Manager went out to estimate the job he took a couple of "before" pictures. They were just some general pictures, not really keying on anything in particular. We went out and did the cleaning and it cleaned up very nicely!! We get a call the next day from the facility manager saying we cracked a tile. Oh boy, we hadn't noted any cracked tiles on the estimate or the cleaners work order. The Account Manager goes back out and takes a picture of the cracked tile and brings it into me to see.

We pull up the "before" pictures and it shows the cracked tile. It was just luck that we got the picture of that tile before the cleaning. We sent the "before" picture to the facility manager and done!!

Yes, people are crazy (some are.)

However the minimum charge misunderstanding could have been easily avoided by a simple email confirmation sent before the cleaning.
Mine says:

Some people are crazy. With 6 billion out there, bound to find some nuts. Before and After pictures are awesome. We always try to take them of the really bad jobs to compare the results. People love seeing those at the end or posted online.

It has really gotten bad recently. I used some Mike ' s disclaimer language for tile and grout and made everyone sign before we start

I have always been a handshake kind of man and business. This doesn't work anymore. I finally caved.

I am, however, over running scared from the fear of a bad review. I had guy recently threaten me trying to get his money back. I told him no way, review all you want as long as you can back it up. I had pictures of the issue in question.

We always go above and beyond, but I'm done with review threat.

The one about a bad result is not my fault.......

The one on the separate form. Cracked grout, color seal, bathrooms, etc.

I had service monster add enough space at the bottom of the invoice for a modified version of it to fit.
