Randy's got it. Grill bricks.

Buy a brick for $4 and slice it into 2" thick wafers. Fastest way to remove pilling also. Use only on rugged fabric.

Doesn't leave black marks, but leaves crumbs that easily vacuum out.

PS: Releases sulphur odor as it wears. Ask for a "stink brick" at the restaurant supply and they'll know what you want.

We used that material as insulation on mechanical piping. The old timers call it fart rock. I wouldn't use it on upholstery if is the same stuff - it itches .. like crazy and smells like bad eggs.
