Wow. That's amazing. I've seen some bad reversal but that takes the cake.

I've seen it that dramatic on some silk rugs but that really shows you better clean it in the same direction

My guys tells me banana silk, formally known as Rayon..

or viscose. Pile distortion or reversal is the norm for some of these rugs and that's before you clean them

Its odd that it would flip perfectly down the middle.

I don't always know the full story to the videos and photos that people an employees send me

it appears to be in a rug cleaning shop. probably some cleaned from midway point and then turned around to clean from the other direction.

My guess would be a total rewet and then readjust the pile the same way it got set in the first place.

Based on where in our building the rug is laying, I'm betting it was brought in that way and asked to be corrected
