would like to get on Google search and started an account and sent in the verification number and it has been pending for a week. No phone number I can call that I can see. How does this work?

You can still set up your business listing details etc *without being verified

the last verification I did, I got an automated phone call that verified me within 10mins of requesting

They will send you a number in the mail to verify that you have a true business location. It keeps companies like Home Adviser from setting up bogus websites for your area.

Yes, I verified by postcard number. I am verified but the Google My Business account says Pending. It has been for at least a week

Likely a manual review has been triggered for some reason.

try the talk to a specialist

verification form

but it appears there is a backlog based on the recent threads on the help forum

Make sure that if you're operating out of your home that you chose that you're a service area business and list the proper cities and/or counties you service.

Water damage, plumbers, carpet cleaners, and a few other home service businesses have been having difficulty verifying. Mainly because of all the lead gen companies flooding the market with fake locations so home service business category based businesses are going through more manual verification I've seen.

I hope not but you'll probably end up doing that more than once before it is reviewed/fixed.
