Have tried about 2 dozen different belts over the years, getting matched dayco transmission belts has proven to be the best route for us.

Oil and heat resistant materials.

Found having a heat resistant belt and installing matched (red codes on the belt match, same manufacture lot) belt sets was what made the difference.

If you want the model/series we use PM me.

They last 2-1 the next best belts we have installed, at least on our PC TM's.

Gates Green has proven to be nearly bulletproof. They will NOT glaze, they can get soaked in grease/oil and still work fine. They GRAB so well, that I had a blower seize, and instead of the belts shredding to pieces, they grabbed so tight that it stopped the motor from spinning! even a lovejoy coupling would have shredded apart.

I was wondering because I had a freak incident happen to mine. Something must have came in contact with the belt somehow. I was doing an inspection on the belts one day and noticed this tear in the belt. It was still working fine even with the rip in it. I have replaced them with the new ones and haven't had any problems yet.
