Does the 360xl on/off trigger a momentary switch? When my switch burned out, the local disty parts guy told me to try the Sanitare vacuum switch..... 1 click on, 1 click off..... I don't have to hold the trigger down, some relief to hands that cramp..... After trying it, I wouldn't go back to holding the trigger....

It's just on when you hit the switch, and off when you let go....

No motor lag we are finding....

Even when we were using the Rotovac 360 XL as a pad driver and with a red pad on a commercial carpet.

Take a look at :50 second mark where we do a dead stop start up here....

Funny you should mention..

Our XL switch has gotten sticky to the point that you have to push down on the trigger at times to shut off the motor, like Nate, I like it when it "locks" on..

My switch burned out in the middle of a job.. I took apart the handle and connected the 2 wires from the switch.. I used the pig tail plug on my 360i to turn it on/off... It works in a pinch...

I'm even used the ball valve after the trigger to stop the flow of water when the trigger let's go (as in the trigger doesn't stop the water, needing a rebuild)... When your on the job, you need to think on your feet and get it done...
